Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Praetura Infrastructure and Developments Ltd. collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact us and we will explain it.
Who we are
Praetura Infrastructure and Developments Ltd., trading as Praetura, is an excavation and civil contractor based in North Vancouver, British Columbia. We operate this website and are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
You can reach us at 23-1501 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2J2, Canada, by email at contact@praetura.ca, or by phone at (672) 968-6262.
Information we collect
This website is a brochure. It has no contact form, no user accounts, and no online ordering, so it does not ask you to type anything into it. We collect personal information only when you choose to get in touch, and only what we need to answer you and to keep the website running.
Information you give us. When you email us, call us, or write to us using the details on this site, we receive whatever you choose to share: typically your name, your company, your email address or phone number, and the details of the project or question you are contacting us about.
Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the browser and device type, and the page that referred you. These server logs are used for security and to keep the site available; we do not use them to build a profile of you.
How we use it, and why we are allowed to
We use your personal information for the purposes you would reasonably expect when you contact a contractor:
- To respond to your enquiry, discuss a project, and prepare a quote or proposal if you ask for one.
- To carry out and administer a contract if we go on to work together, including invoicing and site records.
- To keep this website secure and available, and to investigate misuse.
- To meet legal, tax, safety, and regulatory obligations that apply to a construction contractor in British Columbia.
Consent
Under Canadian privacy law we collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent. By contacting us you consent to our using the information you provide for the purposes described above. Where we rely on your consent you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer deal with your enquiry or project.
Where your information is processed
We are based in British Columbia, Canada. Some of the service providers listed above store data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. While your information is outside Canada it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and national-security authorities of that country. We choose providers that commit to protecting personal information to a standard comparable to Canadian law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a project are kept for 24 months from our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or a project record must be kept longer.
Records of projects we carry out (contracts, quotes, invoices, site and safety documentation) are kept for as long as the law and our insurers require, which is normally at least seven years after the project is complete.
Server logs held by our hosting provider are kept for a short period for security purposes and are then deleted automatically.
Your rights and choices
Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and to access it.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
- Ask us to delete personal information we no longer need.
- Ask questions or make a complaint about how we handle your information.
How to exercise them
Email contact@praetura.ca or write to us at 23-1501 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver, BC V7M 2J2, Canada. We will confirm we have received your request and respond within 30 days; if we need longer we will tell you why. To protect your information we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act.
If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca).
Children
This website is intended for adults and businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Access to the mailboxes and systems where your information is stored is limited to the people who need it to respond to you or to carry out a project. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.

This site may link to other websites, such as the industry associations we belong to. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices; their own policies apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a contact form or analytics to the site. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If a change is significant we will make that clear on this page.
